Hi!👋 I’m a senior undergraduate student at KAIST, majoring Computer Science. I was born in US(New York), raised in Hong Kong, South Korea(Seoul, Daejeon) and I love building connections with people from diverse backgrounds. Happy to connect 😊!

I was incredibly fortunate to spend 3 years under the supervision of Prof. Sung Ju Hwang at the KAIST MLAI, who inspired my passion and commitment to research. This autumn, I’m excited to join the University of Washington as an exchange student and visiting researcher in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering! I am sincerely thankful to my collaborators and advisors, whose support, mentorship, and shared wisdom have been vital to my growth and learning journey as a researcher.

My research interest lies in

  • AI for Science (drug discovery, protein modeling, sustainability)
  • Core ML methods (efficient attention, robust generalization)
  • Interpretable AI

I have also been exploring Model Merging for efficient and improved generalization (see selected projects>presentation>lab seminar and please feel free to reach out if you’d like to hear more about my ideas!) and Continual Learning with a focus on mitigating catastrophic forgetting (see selected project>coursework>bcs.50041), both of which are pivotal for advancing scientific discovery.

After my 2nd year, I was recognized as a KAIST Honor Student, earning eligibility for doctoral-level courses and pursuing interdisciplinary studies across departments including:

  • AI (Doctoral Level): Geometric Deep Learning(A+), Bayesian Machine Learning(A0)
  • CS : Introduction to Deep Learning(A+), Introduction to Reinforcement Learning(A0), Generative AI for society(A+), Discrete Mathematics(A0), Immersion Camp: Intensive Programming and Startup
  • Mathematics: Analysis I(Score: 83.66/100, Class average: 62.87/100; Absolutely Graded), Calculus I(A+), Calculus II(A0), Intro to Linear Algebra(A0), Probability and Statistics(A+)
  • Cognitive Neuroscience: How AI and Brain work(A+), Neuroscience-inspired AI(A0), System Neuroscience(A+)
  • Chemistry & Physics: General Chemistry I(A+), General Chemistry Experiement I(A+), General Physics Lab I(A+)
  • Seminar: Medicine and Society, CS for all, Bio & Brain Engineering Seminar, Brain Cognitive Science Seminar, Beyond Games & Into Technologies Seminar
  • HSS: Human & Environment-Sustainable Socio-ecological System(A0), Innovation and Entrepreneurship(A0), Management of Everything(A+), Intro to Sociology(A+), Intro to Economics(A0), English Short Stories(A+)
